WOOD FLOOR CARE GUIDELINES Here are some hints to help you protect the investment you’ve made in your floors. Proper care should help them last a lifetime.
Note: Do not use any Restore-A-Floor products on unsealed wood floors. To find out if your wood floor is sealed, place a small drop of water on the wood floor. If it beads, then it is sealed. If it soaks in and leaves a dark spot, then it is not.
FOR NEWER FLOORS
1. Clean - Use Restore-A-Floor Cleaner to remove dirt and debris from the floor. Rinse well with water so floor is completely free of all previous floor care products.
2. Apply Finish - If foot traffic and wear and tear have taken the shine out of your newer floor, you can reshine and protect your floor by using Restore-A-Floor. This finish is long-lasting and can occasionally be spruced up with light touch-up applications.
3. Regular Maintenance - Use Restore-A-Floor Concentrated Floor Cleaner as often as needed to remove dirt and debris from the floor without reducing the shine of the finish and without rinsing or build-up.
FOR OLDER FLOORS
1. Heavy Deep Cleaning - If your floors have lost their ‘new floor shine’ and you are unhappy with their appearance, you need to strip away all previous finish build-up and dirt with a high quality floorstripping product. Rinse floor twice with clear water and allow to dry.
2. Apply Finish - Once the floor is properly cleaned, apply Restore-A-Floor for a clear, high gloss, protective shine. This finish helps seal out dirt and makes future cleaning easier.
3. Regular Maintenance - Use Restore-A-Floor Cleaner as often as needed to remove dirt and debris from the floor without reducing the shine of the finish and without rinsing or build-up.
